[Ivar's quick to contact Ubbe after seeing the memory of him tearing through Lagertha's warriors like they were made of paper. He's known, of course, that his brother felt the same way about his mother dying as he did. They wouldn't have plotted to assassinate Lagertha together if he hadn't. But that was a fury he'd seen in his brother precious few times and never with the sheer amount of hatred he'd shown Lagertha.

He reminded him of Ragnar in that moment, the way he'd been in his prime, when almost no one had been able to touch their father.]

You never told me you tried to kill Lagertha on your own.

[Honestly, if he'd had just a little more luck, he might have actually succeeded.]

[ Ubbe was less than pleased that another memory had seemed to be shared before he knew it. He hadn't been particularly proud or ashamed of that moment. It was a moment of grief and it had been reckless. ]

Why would I tell you that?

[ He could just imagine Ivar mocking had he told him at the time. ]

[ragnarsson]

I don't know, maybe so that I didn't think you'd stabbed me in the back by joining the side of our mother's killer after we had a falling-out.

[He'd felt like Ubbe had betrayed not only him but Aslaug as well with that move. Like he'd just been able to forget the past and move on, even if it was at the side of Lagertha.]

[ubbe]

Would you have believed me, Ivar? I don't believe it would have made a difference. You are too stubborn. You let anger blind you and you don't let it stop blinding you.

[ragnarsson]

[Ivar would like to say Ubbe is wrong, that it would've changed things somehow. But the problem is that his older brother has always been able to see through him right to the core of what he is. His usual bullshit tactics that he uses with everyone else don't work on Ubbe. He lets out a huffy noise of acknowledgement.]

You may not have liked me seeing that, but it is better that I did.

[ubbe]

[ There's a little grunt of resignation for the moment. After all, there's not much that he can do about it now that it has been shared already. ]

Ivar. Ivar, we gotta talk. Pick up, I'm-

[His voice is hushed, panicked, and sounds as if he just ran a mile. There's a certain slur to his words that betrays he's been drinking - and quite a lot, if it actually has an effect on him.]

Fuck, fuck, fuck...

[Ivar's honestly surprised that Dodger has called him. Usually, it's the other way around, and he has to fight tooth and nail to get the mutant to talk to him. But he sounds very off in a way Ivar's only heard once or twice before. It's clear he's going to have to take charge here.]

Where are you?

[smokedout]

My dome. I'm in my dome, it's... unlocked. Door's open.

[He chooses to leave out that he is crumpled under the sink in his bathroom, shaking and hyperventilating with a bottle of wine clutched in his hands. He just needed something to hold. His dome in general is a mess - plates smashed against walls, furniture thrown clear across the room and scorch marks on the wall. Certainly, none of that was there the last time Ivar visited.]

[ragnarsson]

[Ivar doesn't bother asking what happened. Instead, he just limps over to Dodger's dome. He checks for booby traps again, more out of habit then anything else. There's a lot easier ways to hurt Ivar then making some phone call like he needed help.

He goes through, toes hitting things like shards of glass from all the broken crockery. It looks like a warzone in here.]

Dodger?

[He checks the kitchen before going over to the bathroom. When he pushes the door open and sees him curled up there, Ivar just shakes his head. Just when he thought this dog couldn't get anymore pathetic. It's always three steps forward, two steps back with him.]

What a sight you are.

[He glances up at the voice, just long enough to confirm its source, before his gaze darts back to his shoes. He knows he's pathetic, and he expects to be kicked and told to get off the floor because that is what Augustine would do if he had the nerve to ask him for help.]

...don't have a backup, don't have blackmail, I'm gonna get fucking caught and I can't- I'm not doing that...

[He had already been mumbling to himself, the only thing he can do is raise his voice just enough for Ivar to hear.]

[He's spiraling, that's clear enough to Ivar. Time to snap him out of it. With some difficulty, he sits down, and then smartly slaps Dodger across the face.]

Wake up! I didn't come over here to be witness to your ramblings.

[Ivar's never been one to sugarcoat things. If Dodger wanted that, he could've called up someone else.]

[ It's not usually very hard to find Ivar. He's often enough causing some kind of trouble but Stan's just perceptive either way. Stan had been close to Ivar in the Quarantine and he's still one of the people that Stan trusts the most even if Stan hasn't been very... social in the sphere as of late.

He looks rather clearly pensive when he fines Ivar, there's something out of his ordinary seriousness and his ordinary sadness. It's weightier and heavier. ]

Ivar, are you busy?

[ragnarsson]

[Ivar's idly sharpening one of his blades when Stan finds him. The boy has always been quiet and drawn inward more often then not. Ivar approved, for he was far different then most kids of his age. Right now, he could tell there was a lot going on behind his eyes.]

Not at all. Is there something that weighs heavy on your mind?

[stantheman]

[ Stan isn't surprised by what ivar's doing. It's something he does a lot after all and it stopped bothering him and making him nervous a long time ago now. ]

Yeah.

[ Stan sits down near Ivar, his hands rubbing the tops of his thighs just above his knees before curling over his knees in a habitual movement. ]

You know, how there's all these people coming in lately? A grown up Beverly and my friend Richie too are here right now. [ Ivar's never had the pleasure of meeting a young Richie he's pretty sure, though so it probably wouldn't mean an awful lot. ]

[ragnarsson]

I know of them. [He'd not been too inclined to interact with them, instead regarding the influx of strangers with a wary eye. He thinks that he can see where this is going. Prophecy is such a big thing with the Norse after all.] Did they tell you of things yet to come?

[stantheman]

[ Stan's quiet at the question but at least Ivar is as expected and knows at least what is going on in general so he didn't have to explain. He rubs his knees in an anxious movement. ]

Yes. I knew already in a way but not... [ Stan sighs. ]

I just always have this part of me that won't go away.

[ragnarsson]

[Ivar wondered if that oblique sentence was referring to Stan's natural neuroses or something else. He decides to just be direct rather then trying to coax it out of Stan. He'd come to him for a reason.]

What did they tell you?

Oh? What kind of a favor?

The sort that will guarantee my survival. I purchased a dagger, but I have little knowledge in how to properly use it.

Will you teach me to fight?

Now that is something I have much knowledge in. [She couldn't have gone with a better teacher. Crazy and psychopathic though he is, Ivar has much knowledge on the subject of weaponry.] Would you like to meet in my dome or yours?

[Given what little she has learned of him, she knows he is a soldier, a warrior. Better he than anyone else to teach her.]

I live alone, we will have room to work and not be interrupted. Will you available soon?
