HISTORY
BEING BORN
cw: Infanticide and mercy kill mentioned. Ivar's life was destined for hardship from the moment of his birth. It was clear right off to his parents that he would be physically disabled. Almost all Norse children born with such severe disabilities were left out to die in the woods, a fate considered far more merciful than letting them grow to adulthood in a culture that prided its members on physical prowess. His mother and father couldn't go through with it and he was allowed to live. But Ivar has been made aware his whole life that he could have had a far different fate, one that could have almost been kinder in a way. It has left him with a lot of self-esteem issues.
RAGNAR'S ABANDONMENT
When Ivar was five, Ragnar had a bit of a mental breakdown due to far too much trauma over the years. He abandoned his position as king, his family, and any responsibilities he had to either. Since Ivar was so young, it didn't affect him quite as much as his brothers, but it still was hard to have his father just take off to "find himself" for over ten years. Surprisingly, for someone who held grudges like it's nobody's business, Ivar didn't resent his father much for leaving. He just longed for him to come back so that he could prove that he was just as good as any of his other sons despite his disability.
RAGNAR TAKING HIM TO ENGLAND
When Ragnar eventually came back when Ivar was sixteen, he planned what was essentially one last suicide mission to England. He asked all of his sons to go with him but only Ivar agreed after some prodding from Ivar himself to be asked. He jumped at the chance to go with his father and show he could be a true warrior. While there, he and Ragnar bonded strongly, as Ragnar immediately saw his son didn't need to be coddled and wasn't helpless. He gave Ivar the reality check he needed, telling while he wasn't normal the way other Norsemen were physically, this wasn't necessarily a bad thing and that he could still be the warrior he wanted to be. He realized that his son had the potential for greatness and started planting seeds in Ivar's head to realize that fact. This was honestly one of the happiest times in Ivar's life and he treasured the memories he had during this time.
THE DEATHS OF HIS MOTHER AND FATHER
Unfortunately, this was followed by one of the worst periods of his life. Ragnar stayed in England to die, sending Ivar back home. His final words stayed with his son for the rest of his life. "Be ruthless." And Ivar took those words to heart and lived by them. While he somewhat expected his father to die, what came as a shock was his mother Aslaug being slain while he was away from home. Aslaug was his father's second wife and his first wife Lagertha had always resented the fact she got everything Lagertha longed for: power and prestige in the position of being queen, the ability to give Ragnar more sons, and having Ragnar himself as her husband. She shot her in the back to take over her position as queen. Ivar was first shocked upon learning this and then vowed to slay his mother's killer no matter what it took. What complicated this fact is that his oldest brother, Bjorn, was Lagertha's son, which left the family now divided between the sons who wanted revenge and those that did not. Ivar, for his part, had become traumatized by the death of his parents. For all of his tough talk, he was still only seventeen, and losing his parents has left him feeling like no one will ever stay permanently in his life.
BATTLING IN ENGLAND
Ivar and his brothers immediately plotted revenge on the men who had killed their father. Putting aside their differences for the moment, they raised the largest Norse army ever seen and went to England to kill those who had wronged them. Ivar began to show off the keen intellect he had as he became the strategist for the army. He showed how he could read people even after only knowing them for a short period of time, having been able to predict what an English prince would do on the battlefield commanding his troops after witnessing his behavior in the English court when he'd been there with Ragnar. Ivar proved to everyone else and himself that he had worth as a warrior. He began to see himself as being able to become leader of the army, despite his brothers telling him that wasn't going to happen. He felt on top of the world after helping to kill one of the kings who murdered his father in brutal fashion, and at the canon point he's coming from, they just won a key battle which will allow them to reach the other king they hold responsible for Ragnar's death. Ivar is feeling on top of the world at this moment after having these experiences.

ABILITIES
ABILITY Ivar has immense upper body strength from literally crawling around most of his life. He's strong enough to crush a chess piece with one hand. According to showrunners, he has brittle bone syndrome, so in order to get around, he's either got to move himself using only his arms, or wait around for someone willing to carry him. Being without the use of his legs didn't keep him from learning how to wield weapons and he's shown to actually be better at archery and with a throwing ax than three of his brothers. He can also wield a sword well enough to end in a tie with one of them too. He's very intelligent, and despite being young, can devise military strategies good enough to win battles. Aside from this, he's just a normal human being.

MONSTER
appearance
Ivar will be a werewolf. The twist is that, in reference to the Norse werewolves who had to put on a wolfskin to transform, he'll have to rip off his skin in order to transform. If he tries to resist the urge, it will feel increasingly painful to be in his own human skin until he absolutely has to do so. This can happen in stages, such as gaining wolf ears and a tail or all at once to transform completely. He'll be a grey wolf standing at about his human height of six feet. Due to having an extreme amount of rage, the longer he goes without killing or having sex with anyone, he'll continue to grow until he tops out at about the size of a van from muzzle to tail. His ice-blue eyes will remain in this form, making it easier to tell who he is.

POWER_LIST
Sense enhancement | His strength, stamina, and five senses will be enhanced while his legs will still be weak and unable to fully take his weight in this form.
Healing factor | He can heal from most injuries within a few minutes so long as the weapon has been removed from his body. The faster it happens depends on how angry he is. The exceptions will be loss of limb, which he is unable to heal from, and any permanent marks like branding or tattoos.

behavior
While full of all the wolfish instincts that come with the form, Ivar will remain very clever and able to read people in this form. He'll adapt his behavior, acting like a sad, helpless creature to lure those in who are compassionate or full of fury to intimidate those who are more wearlike. His fury and rage will increase the longer he goes without indulging the urges of having sex or killing, making him desire to hunt and kill those around him all the greater until he can focus on nothing else. Being shown genuine kindness and compassion will calm him down from these rages. Fighting him will also paradoxically help calm the beast within.

Ivar is feeling on top of the world at this moment after having these experiences.

PHILOSOPHY: Ivar is a young Norse warrior and being born into a culture so vastly different from any other in history has completely shaped the way he looks at the world. Ivar desires power, glory, and honor, all of which is usually accomplished in their culture by fighting and dying on the battlefield. Ivar is no different in this regard, seeing as killing people as an honorable and noble thing to do. In the modern era, this attitude would have made him been considered a psychopath and confined to a mental asylum or jail long ago. In his own culture, he's no different than anyone else. He also sees himself as being an adult despite only being seventeen, for men come of age among the Norse at age twelve. Anyone who tries to talk down to him, ignore him, or show him pity simply because of his age or physical condition will be met with the usual rage burning inside of him. He feels the world around him is kill or be killed and reacts accordingly to all situations with this mindset.

DESIRES: Being born physically disabled has made him push himself hard to not only live but thrive. Ivar is determined to become the most famous Viking in the world, even surpassing his father Ragnar Lothbrok. He seeks to do this by becoming leader of the Great Heathen Army and eventually king. Ultimately, the last goal he wants to achieve is to die with honor upon the battlefield so he can make it to the Viking afterlife. What Ivar doesn't realize subconsciously is that he also wants unconditional love. Losing his father and mother so swiftly one after the other has made him afraid no one will ever stay in his life or love him for who he is. To have that whether in a familial or romantic fashion would be better than any amount of power could ever be for him.

FEARS: Physically, there's a few things Ivar fears. One of the things he fears is breaking a bone bad enough to leave him completely helpless or even being bad enough to kill him. Another is drowning. He was already scared of the ocean when he ended up caught in a terrible storm when sailing with his father to England. Being unable to swim due to his disability, he almost lost his life, and it was only sheer luck that allowed him to survive the experience. Since that time, he's had a fear of it happening again. Mentally, what he fears more than anything else is the people he loves leaving him for good, either by dying or because they no longer care about him. Having both his father and mother die one right after the other has left him thinking no one will ever stick around permanently. He tries to push people away, sure that they won't stay, and in a self-fulfilling prophecy they often don't when they get tired of his bullshit.
GAMEPLAY

SUITABILITY: Ivar's young and disabled but this hardly makes him helpless. He's independent and able to take care of himself. He's had to grow up tough in a hard world and managed to become a Norse warrior despite being unable to walk, and has aspirations to become a leader of the Great Heathen Army. While life won't be easy for him in Rubi, he's going to do what he's always done and survive whatever gets thrown at him. While he'll gladly accept help, he certainly won't expect it, and will do everything he can to be independent.

IN CHARACTER

Character Name: Ivar "The Boneless" Ragnarsson
Canon: Vikings
Canon Point: Post Episode 4x18

In-Game Tattoo Placement: This on the right side of his ribs.
Current Health/Status: Very healthy for the most part. Does suffer from brittle bone syndrome, which has left him with legs unable to support his weight, a bluish tone to the whites of his eyes, and a very nasty temper due to being in constant pain.
Age: 16
Species: Human (with some divine heritage)

Content Warnings: Vikings as a whole has tons of violence, brutal death sequences, mutilations, maulings, rape, pillaging, familial incest, and other things from the time period. Ivar himself uses ableist language, is extremely violent, has some thoughts that can be interpreted as being incest, and has very little concept of consensual sex.

History: Here!

Personality: Ivar is a complicated Viking. On the surface, he looks like your average psychopath: burns people alive for shits and giggles and plays mind games to torment everyone around him. But dig a little deeper and he gets more complex. He's a product of the culture around him. The Norse are all about physical prowess and being born a cripple usually meant being put out in the woods to die of exposure, a merciful death rather then letting a child grow and suffer. Ivar grew up with almost everyone treating him with disdain and pity, seeing him as the poor weak runt that should have done the proper thing and died when he was a child.

Ironically, it was these sentiments that hardened Ivar's will. He decided he wasn't just going to live, he was going to thrive and prove he was just as good as any other Norse warrior. Being the youngest son of one of the most famous Vikings in the entire world also put added pressure on him to succeed. What became the core of his personality was his ever-present anger. Life dealt him a bad card and he responded with fury. Despite all this, there were a few people like his family who managed to get past all the rage and hurt, and he responded by giving them eternal loyalty and love. When he gains a friend in the young Prince Alfred while being held captive in the English court, who shows him kindness and no fear when no one else will, he holds onto the chess piece given as a symbol of that friendship even years after the fact.

Whereas anyone born in the modern era who behaved the way he did would have been written off as a nutcase and either been put in jail for life or at the very least in an insane asylum, no one bats an eye at his behavior in the world of the Norsemen. In fact, because of the way he acts, he's considered to be a good member of their society once he starts being able to prove himself on the battlefield. Anyone who underestimates him for being "just a cripple" has their days numbered in his mind.

He finally got his chance to prove himself when his father returned after abandoning his family and duties as king ten years earlier. He offered Ivar a chance to come on a raid with him and the teen jumped at the chance, forgetting the resentment he'd built up towards Ragnar for ten years. This also showed another facet of his personality: Ivar's so used to people treating him with cruelty that the moment someone shows him genuine kindness, they're immediately forgiven all faults and he will love them to a point of blindness.

Over the next several years, Ivar develops into a brilliant tactician on the battlefield, first used when he and his brothers invade England to avenge their father's death. He might not be able to walk, but he can plan six steps ahead of anyone he goes up against, out-thinking them completely. This is because he's very clever and good at reading people even after knowing them for only a short amount of time. He can read his father like a book after only knowing the man for about a week and knows exactly how a English prince is going to direct his troops because he spent a little time in the man's court and go to witness things like his cruelty firsthand. At the same time, losing his father and mother breaks him down a little. He comes to think that anyone who he loves and cares about will leave him eventually whether by choice or by dying. Though he hasn't quite reached the point of pushing everyone away before they can hurt him is a good idea, he soon will. This becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy when the rest of his brothers start getting tired of his bullshit and do just that soon after the canon point he's taken from.

On the flip side, Ivar has some good qualities to him even if they aren't there on the surface. He's got a bad temper and snaps at people a lot, but this is because he's in pain twenty-four/seven. It's not exactly like they have Tylenol or even morphine he can take back in 816, so he's just learned to deal with it. But because of this, he can come off as quite unpleasant just on a first impression. If someone can persist in being patient with him and get him to open up a little, he can bond very quickly with them, to the point of becoming ridiculously loyal. Those who are kind to him have a friend for life unless they betray him and he's very quick to forgive people of their faults all the way to the point of blindness. Heck, his father flat-out turned into a deadbeat who abandoned the family for ten years to go "find himself" or some crap. After only just one conversation where Ivar airs his resentments and anger, which then leads to Ragnar treat him equal to his other sons, he's completely forgiven him and is ready to accompany him on a voyage to England.

There's a few aspects of Norse society presented in the show in general that it's worth mentioning here just because they are radically different from today's world and do affect his thinking. Besides the aforementioned aspect of expecting physical prowess from all members of society, both men and women could fight on the battlefield, with women that did so highly respected as shieldmaidens. But even those that found other roles were not without power. Ivar's mother is the queen and rules completely in her husband's stead when he fucks off for ten years and does a much better job of it than he did, expanding the town they were in into a thriving port city. There is no real "gender divide" between them. Sexuality is likewise rather fluid, for they don't really have a concept of hetero and homosexual. Instead, the main focus is on who is the dominant one in the bedroom. Threesomes are not found to be uncommon either. They also were very clean in comparison to other societies of the time, notably much more than the Saxons of England. Both Norse men and women liked the following: doing their hair, clothes, jewelry, and flowers. None of these things were considered to be more "masculine" or "feminine", they were just things that everyone could enjoy.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping: Ivar has immense upper body strength from literally crawling around most of his life. He can also wield a sword well enough to end in a tied draw with one of them too. He's very intelligent, and despite being young, can devise military strategies good enough to win battles. Aside from this, he's just a normal human being.

Inventory: A throwing axe, one outfit, chariot and horse to pull it.

Are you comfortable with prominent elements of fourth-walling?: I am! He's already a historical figure so plenty of fourth wall opportunities there.
What themes of horror/psychological thrillers do you enjoy the most?: I enjoy getting inside a character's head, putting them through the wringer, and psychologically breaking them down one piece at a time until they're nothing but a shivering wreck. However, removing a few organs not necessary for living here and there is also occasionally fun.
Is there anything in particular you absolutely need specific content warnings for?: Nope

IC Info

Name: Ivar "The Boneless" Ragnarsson
Canon: Vikings
Age: 21ish, given the time spent in games and canon updates.
Appearance: Pic
Canon Point: 5x20
Background: Link!
CRAU: Ivar's first game was Riverview. Set on a moon in a universe where people drawn there were quarantined in a city surrounded by jungle for five years, he had quite a few significant pieces of CR, and stayed there for over a year, during which time he also went home for a canon update from the end of Season Four to the middle of Season Five. He met Letha, a pregnant necromancer, with whom he soon formed a relationship with. When her daughter Winter was born, she developed post-partum depression and returned home, leaving Ivar to raise the little girl alone in his heartbreak. He became fiercely protective of her, finally finding someone he could care about. He also met two versions of the same man: Tony Stark, a genius who developed a pair of leg braces for the Viking to be able to walk for the first time in his life, as well as gave him some "toys" in the form of weapons for him to use. He gained a pair of Pokemon during this time, which allowed his softer side to come out as they cared for him, and whom became devoted and dangerous pets that would defend Ivar with their life.

Others who made an impact were the Norse gods Thor and Loki, who Ivar took to looking on as a pair of surrogate uncles, seeing as how he himself in his own universe had Odin as his grandfather. He also found a mentor in the damaged ex-assassin Bucky Barnes, who took the Viking under his wing. In exchange for teaching him how to fight better, he also tried to instill a proper sense of empathy in the Viking, with limited results. Ivar in turn tried to help stabilize the man's unsteady personality and get him to socialize more. Thor and Bucky became two of the only people who he would listen to in the city. But there was two more to come.

Eventually, part of Ivar's family arrived: his sister Gyda who had died before he was born and a version of his father Ragnar brought in years before Ivar was even born in his personal timeline. He grew close to them very quickly and it helped stabilize his mind. A family friend, a priest named Athelstan who had died when Ivar was only a baby arrived as well. He showed such genuine kindness to the Viking that Ivar became devoted to him immediately. Ragnar and Athelstan likewise became two of the only people he would listen to. Apparently, he has a thing for collecting father figures.

During this time, Ivar met a mutant named Dodger who he developed an immediate and immense hatred of. The two had several fights, where much to the mutant's shock and dismay, Ivar kept coming out on top. Ragnar got involved with Dodger sexually, even after a heated argument with Ivar warning him the man was like fire and would only burn him. Ragnar didn't heed his warnings until Dodger raped Athelstan. Ivar didn't bother telling Ragnar 'I told you so', instead setting on a path of vengeance with his father against the man. They skinned him alive as punishment.

During this time, Ivar became involved in a relationship with Marco from the Animorphs universe. Marco, after an incident of seeing how Ivar's brittle bone syndrome could be painful, entrusted him the power to morph from his home universe. Ivar acquired several Earth animals and aliens, including a mission where he acquired a powerful alien that resembled a bull-large cat crossbreed.

Towards the end of his time there, Dodger became something of a servant and general dogsbody for the Viking teen, having finally learned to respect him. They especially bonded after Ragnar and Athelstan returned to their own time period, sleeping together for the first time. A slave from Ivar's home, a priest named Heahmund showed up, and Ivar instructed Dodger to watch him. Unbeknownst to him, Dodger set about trying to recruit Heahmund in a plot to kill Ivar. Shortly after this, he, Winter, and his Pokemon returned to his own world for a short period of time.

He then entered The Sphere, an underwater complex deep beneath the ocean. There was horror scenarios that popped up every other month, with the other being devoted to a memory share that was broadcast to the whole network. His Pokemon and Winter were left back in his own world.

His sister Gyda came from Riverview, as well as few kids from the movie It, Bev and Stan. Most importantly, Ivar met his brother Ubbe again, whom he had disowned in canon. The two repaired their relationship and Ivar learned to forgive others when he held a grudge against them. He canon-updated to the end of Season Five during this time. He also made friends with Rhys, who repaired Ivar's braces when he got into a fight during which they were damaged. A new version of his baby mama Letha showed up for a short period of time, dredging up old feelings, as well as a new version of Dodger. Dismayed that his dog no longer seemed to remember him, he set about "retraining" him with the usual methods Ivar had (i.e. psychologically terrorizing the man until he was molded into what Ivar wanted), which led to the two of them entering a sexual relationship again. It is at this point where Ivar will be taken from.

Personality: Ivar is a complicated Viking. On the surface, he looks like your average psychopath: burns people alive for shits and giggles and plays mind games to torment everyone around him.

At the same time, losing his father, mother, honorary uncle, and one of his brothers all within the span of about a year breaks him down. He comes to think that anyone who he loves and cares about will leave him eventually whether by choice or by dying. He decides pushing everyone away before they can hurt him is a good idea, which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy when the rest of his brothers start getting tired of his bullshit and do just that.

By his current canon point, he's become and then lost the position of being King of Kattegat. While a good warlord, Ivar makes for a terrible king, and this is where his blood lust and love of carnage come into full play, as he massacres anyone who speaks out against him and does so with glee. He gives into such delusions of grandeur as to think he's a god up until his son is born with a deformity. That brings him back down to earth hard. By the time he flees Kattegat, he's killed both his son and wife, and it's clear the loss of the family he'd wanted for so long and tried to create have hit him a lot harder then losing power and the crown have. He's hurting and reeling from his losses, but as always, Ivar is a survivor. He'll weather this storm out and come back strong as always.

Weaknesses/Temptations: Ivar is ruled more then anything else by his temper. Anger has sustained him his entire life and he clings to it as both a shield and strength. He reacts to any situation with a fury that seems to be without end. Because he doesn't put limits on himself, that includes reining in his temper. He's also unable to forgive anyone for the slights against him, whether real or imagined, major or minor in his mind. He's psychopathic and clever, two traits that make him ruthless enough to achieve any goals he wants while also being too proud to admit when he's wrong as well.

Sins: Fratricide: Killed his own brother Sigurd.
Uxoricide: Killed his wife.
Infanticide: Left his son out to die by exposure to the elements.
Live immolation: Has burned numerous people alive.
Sacrilege: Declares himself a god.
Torture: "Blood-eagled" a king and force-fed a priest molten gold.
Vengeful: Unable to let go of grudges or slights against him, particularly against the woman that killed his mother and the men that killed his father.
Selfish: Started and continued a civil war to kill the woman that killed his mother, even though it tore his remaining family apart.
Cruelty: Has a habit of saying nasty, biting things to people just to hurt them. Also just enjoys hurting people in general. Arbitrarily kills his own people for no reason.
Psychopathic: Has an inability to relate to anyone with sympathy and empathy.
Sadist: Seems to get off on torturing people, usually to death.
Incestuous ideation: There's some subtext in the show which suggests Ivar is attracted to his brothers.
Pride: Ivar boasted of himself being a god and being smarter then everyone around him.
Greed: He's never satisfied with what he has and always wants more, whether it's land, treasure, or power.
Lust: He covets much which he will never have, everything from a perfect body to conquering more land in England.
Envy: He's forever resentful of those around him who have normal bodies that allow them to be warriors while he will never have the chance.
Wrath: Anger and fury is what has sustained him for many years, allowing him to accomplish much, but burning him up inside at the same time.

Powers/Abilities: While in Riverview, Marco from the Animorphs used technology from his home world, the blue box, to give Ivar the power to morph into any living creature that possesses DNA for up to two hours. The specifics of morphing are here and a list of morphs he currently has are here.

Ivar himself uses ableist language, is extremely violent, has some thoughts that can be interpreted as being incest, and has very little concept of consensual sex. THREADHOPPING: Sure, as long as everyone is communicating.
FOURTHWALLING: Feel free to recognize him as a historical figure, but not specifically as a fictional character from a TV show.
IN CHARACTER.
NAME: Ivar "The Boneless" Ragnarsson
CANON: Vikings
LANGUAGE: Old Norse, Old English
AGE: 19
HEIGHT: 6'0" when standing up straight. Much shorter when sitting.
BUILD: Lean but muscular.

AFFECTION: He is a prickly little porcupine, but he welcomes physical affection like hugs, kisses, and especially touching heads to one another once he gets to know someone. If he doesn't know you, he'll likely put a knife to your face.
SHIPPING: He's bisexual and I will ship with most characters besides his brothers. Just keep in mind any relationship with him is not going to be healthy and filled with things like mind games and physical abuse.
VIOLENCE: Pft, this canon is equivalent with Game of Thrones as to how violent it is. Go crazy. On my end, ask if you want to tone anything down, since otherwise I can get explicit and gory with descriptions. On Ivar's end, he will gladly get into fights at anytime since he's a psychopathic hothead.
TELEPATHY: He's got no blocks, but a lot of stuff in his head is triggering.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION: His eyes are really as brilliantly blue as they appear in his icons. (No Photoshop here!). His sclera are also faintly blue rather then white thanks to his brittle bone disease. Hair ranges a bit, but tends to look a bit like a swooped back fauxhawk. Lots of tattoos on his back and chest. His legs are thin and withered from lack of musculature structure. Usually sitting down, crawling, or limping very badly with a pair of archaic leg braces.

MENTAL INFORMATION: He is constantly angry to the point where it is his strongest emotion. There is also a very fragile self-image there. For all his tough talk, scathing words make it crumble like a house of cards. There is also fierce loyalty and love to the point of blindness for anyone who shows him kindness.
OPT OUT.
UNWANTED SCENARIOS: I'm good with anything short of incest. Rape does come on a case-by-case scenario, so LOTS of discussion will be needed.

ADDITIONAL PERMISSIONS: Vikings as a whole has tons of violence, brutal death sequences, mutilations, maulings, rape, pillaging, familial incest, and other things from the time period. Ivar himself uses ableist language, is extremely violent, has some thoughts that can be interpreted as being incest, and has very little concept of consensual sex. Please let me know if you would like to opt-out of any of this or the character as a whole.
NOTES: I am very easy-going as a player and have no triggers. If anything does come up that I find is a complete hard NO for me, then I will let you know. Also remember to have communication with me as well.

CHARACTER.
Name: Ivar "The Boneless" Ragnarsson
Canon: Vikings
Canon Point: 5x20, after he flees Kattegat and starts traveling to Rus
Age: 19
Background: Wiki!

Personality: Ivar is a complicated Viking. On the surface, he looks like your average psychopath: burns people alive for shits and giggles and plays mind games to torment everyone around him. But dig a little deeper and he gets more complex. He's a product of the culture around him. The Norse culture was all about physical prowess and being born a cripple usually meant being put out in the woods to die of exposure, a merciful death rather then letting a child grow and suffer. Ivar grew up with almost everyone treating him with disdain and pity, seeing him as the poor weak runt that should have done the proper thing and die when he was a child.

He might not be able to walk, but he can plan six steps ahead of anyone he goes up against, outthinking them completely. This is because he's very clever and good at reading people even after knowing them for only a short amount of time.

Abilities: Able to use swords, knives, axes, and bows with a stunning amount of accuracy. Lots of upper body strength due to using his arms to maneuver around. Speaks Old Norse and Old English. Master tactician in battles. Very good at chess.

Inventory: A pair of very cumbersome leg braces, hand crutch, one throwing axe, and three knives.

Suitability: Ivar is a very independent character despite having a physical disability. He's survived a lot of things already in his life, and despite the strange circumstances he'll find himself surrounded by, he's not going to just give into fear and despair. He'll do his best to adapt to this new world and survive whatever is thrown at him. Given that he has a huge language barrier between himself and most of the other characters, he'll need to find a way to communicate, and learn a measure of trust in people despite not being able to understand them.

God Houses: Odin: One of Ivar's greatest strengths is his mind. Despite not being able to walk, he's very clever and smart, with his father noting he's unpredictable in how he thinks, which allows him to put his knowledge to good use. He's not just street smart either, being one of the few Norse who can read and write runes.
Tyr: Ivar is fearless most of the time, a quality he learned from always pushing his limits. He's got a very large amount of charisma that enables him to manipulate people rather easily when he puts forth the effort.
Mimir: Ivar's always been an excellent strategist when it comes to planning battles for war, able to think outside the box and plan several moves ahead of his opponents as if he's in a chess game.

I tend to default for modern threads to Ivar being a college student planning to run his father's weapons manufacturing company after he's done with school. Family is well-known enough he occasionally ends up on the cover of tabloid magazines. Still pretty psychotic and unstable, but less likely to commit homicide (most of the time). A little less in pain thanks to the wonders of modern medicine being used to help his brittle bone disease. Can play around with the aspect of him being a reincarnation of his Viking self or not.

Since Ivar is a CRAU and was played for over a year and a half at his last game, he encountered quite a few characters during that time period. Many were from popular canons, so there might be some overlap. He's familiar with the concept of the multiverse, so he'll grasp that your character is not the same as the previous one he knew. But if you'd prefer for him not to recognize your character at all, please let me know here!

Character information.
Character name: Ivar "The Boneless" Ragnarsson
Canon: Vikings
Canon point: 5x10
Age. 18
Canon background: Link
As a CRAU, he comes from Riverview, a sci-fi game set on a small moon. Ivar lived there for over a year and a half before he was sent home.
Abilities: While he was in his previous game, Ivar acquired the morphing power from the Animorphs series. The specifics of what morphs he uses can be found here.

Ivar, despite not having use of his legs, is an expert at using the weapons of his time. He's shown to be as good a marksman as any of his brothers when using a bow and arrow, manages to fight one of his brothers to draw with a sword, and is very talented when it comes to using a throwing axe. Though he rarely participates in battles, due to his lack of mobility, when he does, he's shown not to just be a burden, actively killing people who think they've got the drop on him. Also, he's just really strong from a lifetime of crawling around using only his arms. He manages to crush a wooden chess piece with only one hand when upset.

Strengths.: He is very clever and can easily think outside the box. Since he's had trouble moving his entire life, he's learned to observe before acting. He reads people very easily as well, able to predict what people are thinking, and what they'll do before they even know it themselves. He easily out-thinks his opponents on the battlefield, frequently outsmarting a king twice his age despite being a teenager, and in fact only loses one battle at this point in the series.

His anger is one thing his own father labels as a gift. Since Ivar was written off as "just a cripple" a long time ago, someone his culture would see as next to nothing, he had to forge his own path. He became angry at the way people saw him and decided he wasn't just going to live, he was going to thrive, becoming as good as he could possibly become with weapons, and being smarter than almost everyone around him. His fury is also what fuels his determination. When he has a goal in mind, nothing and nobody is going to stop him, whether that's becoming king or raiding all of England. He could have just wallowed in self-pity or fallen back on his title of being a prince during his life to take the easy route. He never did, instead pushing his limits as much as he could.

One trait he has that is almost solely positive is that Ivar never forgets someone who shows him kindness and tends to be very loyal as a result. Throughout the series, Ivar remembers every person who shows him even a modicum of kindness. His father, a man he hates for abandoning for ten years, receives his loyalty and love the minute he acknowledges Ivar as good as his other sons. He frees a slave girl because she shows no fear of him and gives him wise words that make him think he will win the upcoming battles.

Weaknesses: Ivar can be extremely impulsive. Even as a child, when his temper gets the better of him, it results in the death of another child. But the best example of this is that he kills his brother in a moment when he snaps. One can see he regrets it immediately, but there's no going back after that. It isn't the first or last time that he acts recklessly, a white hot anger that he gives into immediately, and then has to look at what happens only afterwards.

On the other side of the coin of loyalty is his tendency to hold grudges way past the point where they are healthy. While some are understandable, like wanting to kill Lagertha, the woman who killed his mother, others are less so, like disowning his older brother Ubbe, who previously was one of his most staunch defenders and watched over him growing up.

He is also a very, very cruel and psychopathic man if he is angered or hates someone. He will think up sadistic ways to kill and torture someone, having no qualms about doing things like pouring molten metal down a priest's throat to kill him. He seems to be the one who enjoys the blood-eagling of King Aelle the most and would have done it if he could have stood up long enough.

Nightmares: One of Ivar's biggest fears is that he's going to end up alone. After losing his mother, father, brother, and mentor all within a year or so, he thinks everyone will leave him. Paradoxically, he deliberately pushes away the family he has left, so that he won't be hurt when they leave, which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy when they finally do. At his current canon point, he's pushed away all but one of his brothers, and even that relationship is tenuous.

A more physical fear is water. Since his legs are all but useless, he can't swim, and if he gets into deep water, he might as well be dead. This is best seen when he goes with his father on a Viking longship. He vomits out of fear, and then, the worst happens when a storm comes upon them. The boat capsizes and Ivar would have drowned if not for the timely intervention of his father rescuing him.
