"You wish." He can't help a smirk, and a humorless little laugh.

But he clears his throat, and shrugs awkwardly. He pulls out a pack of cigarettes and lights one, but at this point it's clearly stalling.

"I don't think I'm being fair to you." He speaks slowly, weighing his words carefully. "And I figured... instead of avoiding you, I should sack up and talk, yeah? So..."

And he's still stalling. He fiddles with his cigarette, his lips waver a bit, and.. finally he just rips off the bandage.

"I think we should take a step back. I think I- can't call myself your boyfriend, the way I treat you."

Ivar's amused but that slips off his face the longer Dodger goes on talking. Oh, when oh when will Dodger learn to just shut up instead of talking? At least when Ivar talks he has purpose. Dodger just seems to always make things worse when he opens up his big mouth.

The Viking king's eyes glitter dangerously at what he hears, madness and anger rising up in them. His voice has that low edge to it, the kind where one who didn't know him as well as his boyfriend did might mistake for being calm. In truth, he was furious.

"Jamie Dodger, are you trying to break up with me?" Oh dear, a call-out of the full name kind. Dodger better choose his next words carefully because Ivar still has that axe in his hands. The way he's eyeing Dodger right now makes it seem like he's measuring how far it would be to throw and bury it right in his skull.

Dodger bristles a bit, at the sound of his first name. There are several people now who know it, or even his full name, but he'll never get used to hearing it. And he definitely hears the dangerous edge there, the same edge he's heard in countless men before him. Still, he doesn't back down. He wouldn't have dated Ivar at all if he was afraid of his temper and honestly, he doesn't really care right now.

"If you kill me, I'm just going to come back. It doesn't stick here." He holds his hands out in a grand, inviting gesture, "So go ahead. I mean, you deserve the right, yeah?"
